The next step of Deep's USV journey
Deep BV, Hydrography & Geophysics has announced that Maritime Robotics Mariner 6 USV, the Deep Lorean, has safely performed an uncrewed survey at the Slijkgat area for the Port of Rotterdam. The port authority survey department has been very enthusiastic and cooperative as this type of operation is an example of pursuing their corporate goals to reduce emissions and promote innovation in their area of maintenance.
Receiving a permit exemption from the Dutch Government (Rijkswaterstaat) to truly sail “uncrewed” with USVs on Dutch inland waterways remains challenging. A big thank you to the Port of Rotterdam for giving us this opportunity to show what our USV is capable of on open water.
